Hi, I'm Joe a Genomics Applications Developer. I
build solutions for labs interested in utilizing cutting-edge genomic
testing technologies.
My Experience
Lead experimental design and execution supporting the
development of NGS-based assay for germline and somatic
testing
Provide expert technical judgement to optimize NGS assay
performance and improve CLIA/CAP laboratory testing
processes and procedures
Assist with sequencing troubleshooting efforts with support
from clinical and bioinformatics teams
Aid in design, writing, troubleshooting, and implementing
automation programs for high-throughput assays
Contribute to project documentation including SOPs,
regulatory submissions, plans and reports
Mentor and guide junior staff and other learners (fellows,
residents etc.) through various NGS chemistries, assay
development and experimental planning
Contribute to publications, conference abstracts and
internal grants overflow.
Design and conduct routine to complex experiments to
validate new assays, procedure changes, and instruments
Analyze and interpret data and summarize results in written
and oral reports in conformance with quality system
documentation needs
Design and troubleshoot experiments
Generate and present project updates, both internally and to
collaborators/stakeholders
Provide technical review, direction, and feedback to others
Take initiatives to form and propose relevant and novel
ideas
Perform high complexity laboratory procedures and testing on
patient specimens across various assays and platforms such
as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, RT-qPCR, MLPA, gel
electrophoresis etc.
Analyze and review testing results including NGS data
Maintain and assist to ensure compliance with all company
quality and safety policies and procedures
Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance
and take authorized corrective actions
Participate in the Proficiency Testing Program and internal
inspections as assigned
